I began painting as a young girl by my Grandmother's side. She was my first art teacher. Over the years I played with various mediums and techniques until my own unique style emerged inspired by my love of nature and rooted in those early days. My whimsical works and landscapes capture the delight, magic and wonder I felt in nature as a child and still continue to feel as an adult
I believe this bunny rabbit painting in particular captures the perfect blend of sweetness, happiness and hint of playful mischievousness that I love about rabbits
My landscapes are of places I visit that I find inspiring and sometimes they are of places I visit only in my imagination.
The landscape pictured here is of a wonderful spot on Lake George, NY. It is The Chapel of Isaac Jogues on Hecker Island and I thought I was about to step into a fairytale the first time I saw it across the waters.
One of my favorite things is when someone walking by my booth at a show suddenly stops as a smile lights up their face and I love that because I know they have spotted one of my whimsical animals and my goal has been achieved - to create smiles and mirth through my artwork.
This is the nice, bright area I love to paint in. Others may call it a living room but to me it's my painting studio!
And this little guy, Tango, keeps an eye on me while I'm painting. He's always ready to take a walk whenever I need a break.
This is the most recent landscape I am working on. I love working with these lush, vibrant colors. Here you can see me brushing on the initial layer of the water. This first layer will barely be seen in the finished product
Tango and I with our WhimzyWorks booth set up at the Spa City Farmer's Market ready to meet returning clients and make new friends! Our booth features original paintings, prints, tote bags and more!
